This is a summary of the development on phase 1.

Electronic components purchased

The main necessary electronic components were already purchased and received. See them below:

Some components were not bought because the group members could simply lend them, such as the Raspberry Pi 3B. There are still some secondary hardware components, such as cables, which should be here this week.

Mechanical structure materials purchased

The turnstile mechanical structure is going to be built using mainly MDF and wood, so an MDF sheet and some wood parts were bought in a wood shop.

The central module is going to be a pre-made box, and it was already bought.

The mechanical structure design is now basically ready and reviewed. The models can already be seen in the mechanical design deliverable:

Fingerprint processing method

This is an optional task, but it was still done. The processing method was first studied and done based on a paper: https://arxiv.org/pdf/1911.00248.pdf.

The fingerprint processing method was also developed and worked. Any in-depth explanation would be out-of-scope of an overview, but as a weak proof:

• A quick execution log, showing the vault encoding of a fingerprint and some logs from the verification. The fingerprint used here was taken from an open database and is encoded.
